  Art Walk I had a painting at El Chante for Art Walk this weekend. I took my camera hoping to get some pics for my blog. “Art” was one of the things on my 50 things list so I thought capturing some photos at Art Walk may be fun. At my show, I didn’t have a chance to take many photos because I was busy talking to people. After the show, I walked down central and tried to get some good shots, which was challenging because it started getting dark. The weird thing was I was more drawn to musicians rather than to visual art. Here are a few of my faves from that day. I guess I like people more than things. I chose to edit them in black and white because the color versions looked too distracting.   

  Guitar and Rooftops I recently met my dad for the first time in 2021. He is a musician and every Sunday we get together for a lesson/jam session. I thought it would be a great opportunity for me to check guitar off my 50 things list. When we take a break, we usually go up to the rooftop of my building so he can smoke. I took a couple of images of him smoking his cigar but it was early in the day and the full sunlight made it hard to get good images. Later that evening I went to have dinner at Sister Bar and ran into a couple of friends. I was telling them about the photos I took of my dad and how I want to shoot on my rooftop at sunset. They came to the roof with me and I included them in my concept.   Being on a rooftop makes me feel free and powerful. I love to have a panoramic view of everything around me.
